传统组织研究聚焦于企业成长机制的探讨,因而对于组织衰落现象缺乏系统的理论解释。本文综述了20世纪80年代以来国外主流管理学期刊上发表的组织衰落文献,从组织衰落界定、衰落原因、模式和后果、组织衰落的复苏战略及其影响因素、组织复苏战略效果及其影响因素等方面对现有文献进行了系统述评。最后,本文分析了现有组织衰落研究存在的不足,并提出了值得进一步研究的未来方向。
Traditional organization research focuses on growth mechanism of firms, thus it lacks systematic theoretical explanation of organizational decline. This paper reviews for- eign literature of organizational decline published in mainstream management journals since 1980s. Specially,it systematically reviews existing literature through several aspects: the def- initions, antecedents, patterns, and effects of organizational decline, turnaround strategy and factors predicting turnaround, the outcomes of organizational turnaround and influencing fac- tors,and so on. Finally, this paper analyzes the limitations of previous organizational decline research, and proposes future research directions.
