对表面稳定铁电液晶器件中C1和C2两种排列态的自由能密度与表面取向情况的依赖关系做了理论模拟,得出采用较小预倾角的取向剂制备铁电液晶器件,可以消除器件中的Zigzag缺陷的结论。实验中采用预倾角为1.8°的取向剂RN-1199,得到了没有Zigzag缺陷的均匀排列器件。
Free energy that includes bulk elastic and surface parts has been theoretically simulated depending on surface topography. The critical conditions of the state transition from C1 to C2 have been determined. Based on this theory, the defect-free FLCDs with uniform alignment was successfully fabrica-ted by means of using alignment layer RN-1199 which can provides a low pretilt angle of 1.8°.
