Lung tissue and respiratory tract constitute a fragile interface between the host immune system and the exterior environment. Fine control of immunological homeostasis in this unique mieroenvironment is central to survival. CD200/ CD200R has proved to be an immune -regulating molecular pair preferentially expressed on the lung tissues. This paper presents a critical review of the function of CD200/CD200R pathway and its molecular mechanism.
