Strengthening the environmental risk prevention of drinking water sources is the key measure for ensuring the safety of drinking water and sustainable development of water resource. Based on the statistics of sudden water pollution accidents in history of Changzhou section of the Yangtze River, the environmental risk identification and analysis of drinking water sources in Changzhou section of Yangtze River were operated about stationary sources, moving sources and valley sources, the environmental risk level evaluation index systems were built including location conditions, environmental pol- lution, environmental supervision capacity and environmental emergency response capacity, the environmental risk level were assessed, and the effective countermeasures for preventing environmental risk were put forward, which have certain reference sisnificance to environmental management of water sources.
