He graduated from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology of Electrical Engineering in 1982. He received a doctoral degree in 1995. He is the author of the Advanced Digital Signal Processing, which is widely used as a textbook for graduated students in China. His research interests include： statistical signal processing, image analysis and communication signal processing.
