A survey was conducted to study the geographical elements and vertical distribution of lichens in Tumur Peak Nature Reserve of Xinjiang according to field investigation data and relevant literature data.A total of 120 species,11 varieties and 4 forms belonging to 49 genera of 23 families were recorded,and its geographical elements include cosmopolitan,circumpolar,pantropical,East Asian,Bipolar-Atlantic,temperate,Scandinovia-Hymalaya-North American,mediterranean-west Asian-central Asian,bipolar,east Europe-north Asian and endemic to China,etc.,among them cosmopolitan,circumpolar and pantropical elements are dominant.There are 6 vertical distribution types such as desert,low mountain desert and steppe,subalpine and low mountain steppe,subalpine meadow,alpine meadow and alpine tundra zone.
