Based on the meteorological data during 1951 and 2005, the change trends and characteristics of air temperature have been analyzed in Nanjing City. The results show that the air temperature has increased remarkably in Nanjing in recent 55 years, with the most obvious warming occurring in spring, and the most unobvious in summer. In summer, both the minimum temperature and mean temperature have increased, while the maximum temperature has decreased. So, the summer of Nanjing has become cool, although the temperature has increased generally. In addition, most of the annual and seasonal daily temperature range （DTR） is obviously decreasing, only the DTR of spring is increasing slowly.
