市场势力是产业组织研究的核心问题,反映了产业组织理论所关注的重点及研究方法的变迁,市场势力提供的基于统计数据和产业组织模型的实证结论可为反垄断法的实施和企业并购案例的分析提供重要的理论依据。本文在新实证产业组织视角下对市场势力测度方法的既有相关文献展开述评,重点梳理了随机边界、需求弹性及索洛余值等三种主流测度方法的理论框架、发展脉络及主要特点,以期系统把握市场势力测度方法的国外最新研究进展,并为国内学者继续研究中国市场势力的相关问题提供较为清晰的方法基础。
Estimating market power has a long tradition in the theory of industrial organization, and economists are very interested in the methods of measuring market power. Lack of rigorous theoretical foundation makes the analysis paradigm of SCP being questioned; however, the new industrial organization theory which mainly analyzes the corporate strategy behavior was becoming the mainstream of industrial organization, including the new empirical industrial organization(NEIO) is one of its key development. Under the perspective of the new empirical industrial organization, this paper reviews the related literatures on the methods of estimating market power, and focuses on combing the theoretical framework, developing context and main features of the following three measuring methods, such as the stochastic frontier analysis method, the elasticity of demand method and the Solow residual value method, in the hope of grasping systematically the recent progress of market power in the English literatures, and providing the more clear methodological basis for the domestic scholars continuing to study the market power of the Chinese economy.
