The X chromosome genetic markers occupy an indispensable position in forensic genetics. With their umque struc-ture and genetic characteristics, they have been applied in the complex paternity testing cases. At present, more than 50 high polymorphism X-STRs have been found, and the number of high polymorphic X-SNPs and X-Indels has been increasing gradually. Moreover, the complex diseases susceptibility of specific X chromosome genetic markers has also attracted clinical workers＇ attention. This paper reviewed the research and application of X chromosome genetic markers for forensic and clinical medicine purpose.
