The paper discussed aesthetical attributes of wood and significance of furniture design, explored the feasibility of aesthetical elements from wood microscopic structure used in furniture design and interior design by taking paulownia wood as an example, via modem microscopical technique, excavated natural beauty concealed inside wood, and stated that apply its natural beauty to furniture design. It is a design method of humanity combined with nature, and art combined with technology, and a design idea of advocating nature. With such design methodology, a new train of thought on furniture design could be expected.
