Taking Shanghai in China and London gold markets for cases, the paper studies gold price fluctuation and evolution at home and abroad by use of R / S analytical technique. Studies show that gold price fluctuation at home and abroad exists concentration and persistence characteristics, and the above - mentioned fluctuation characteristics in foreign markets are stronger than in domestic markets; domestic and international gold price fluctuations evolve from initial strong persistence to weak persistence , while the evolution speed of international markets is slower than the domestic markets.
