The research of the use of task-specific onium salt as soluble support for the Gewald synthesis of 2-aminothiophenes was reported in this article. This synthetic method was simple and efficient, and the products were obtained in good to excellent yields （55 %- 91 %） with high purities, without the need for chromatographic purification, and the onium salt could be recycled.
