The rite ＂Jie Boji＂ has been widely spread among the Miao in northwest Guizhou with different ver- sions for its origin. The rite is generally held after the death of the elderly, with the attempt to send the souls of their ancestral home, which cuts off its contacts with the world. Essentially. ＂Jie Boil＂ , in essence, is to terminate the souls of human life in the world and release ＂the Bo Ji＂ from daily life, which helps to prevent death from damaging society, so as to rebuild the community.
