Depression is a kind of mood disorder syndrome, whose main manifestations is mental retardation symptoms. As a clinical common and frequently occurring disease, it belongs to the scope of the traditional Chinese medicine ＂ depression＂. The effects of Danzhi Xiaoyao powder are regulating the function of liver, clearing heats, reinfocing spleen and regulating the flow of qi. Commonly,Danzhi Xiaoyao powder is used to heal depression, combining with Western medicine or other prescriptions of traditional Chinese medicine. This therapeutic method has obtained good curative effect. This paper summarized the relevant literature about the Danzhi Xiaoyao powder in the treatment of depression in recent years.
