In this paper, the previous research results, especially the recent research achievements on atmospheric Intraseasonal Oscillation （ISO） are reviewed and summarized. The contents mainly include the basic characteristics of atmospheric ISO and its activity, interaction with ENSO, dynamic mechanism and influence on weather and climate of our country. The possible application of ISO to extended-range weather forecast is also emphatically discussed. Finally, the remaining problems and the future prospect on ISO research are briefly expounded.
