Recent studies demonstrate an IL-17-producer CD4＋ T cell subpopulation, termed Th17, distinct from Thl and Th2. Evidence suggesting that Th 17 cell play an important role in autoimmune disease. Investigating the function of Th 17 cells and related factors in autoimmune diseases could reveal the pathogenesis of these diseases and provide new methods for therapy of autoimmune diseases.
