One glycine Schiff base copper(Ⅱ) complex[(CuL)_2]_n(H_2L is a Schiff-base ligand derived from the condensation reaction of N-(2-hydroxybenzaldehyde) and L-glycine,), has been synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray differaction.The binding interactions of the complex with CT-DNA have been investigated by UV-visible spectra,fluorescence quenching method and cyclic voltammetry,which shows that the complex binds to CT-DNA with an intercalative mode.In addition,the DNA cleavage experiments have been also investigated by agarose gel electrophoresis.The complex shows oxidative DNA cleavage activity in the presence of H_2O_2/sodium ascorbate and the reactive oxygen species(ROS) responsible for the DNA cleavage is likely superoxide anion radical(·O_2~-).
