Two phenylboronic acids based glucose probes with 1H-imidazo[-4,5-b] phenazine fluorophore have been prepared. Both of them exhibit large Stokes'shift (136nm and 141nm, respectively ) and long wavelength (up to 540nm) in fluorescence emission spectrum. The fluores- cent intensity of 3b (2-(1H-imidazo[4,5-b]phenazin-2-yl)phenylboronic acid) is lower than 3a (4- (1 H-imidazo[-4,5-b]phenazin-2-yl)phenyl boronic acid) because the B-N interaction modulate the transfer of intramolecular charge. Studies have shown that the designed fluorescent sugar probes based imidazo[-4,5-b]phenazine-2-yl phenylboronic acid could selectively identify different structure of saccharides.
