Among a variety of experimental methods to study the liquid-liquid mixing process, quantitative visualization techniques can display the mixing effects at different locations in the flow field simultaneously, as well as the evolution of the mixing process with time. The laser-induced fluorescence technique, a non- intrusive, highly accurate, easy-to-implement quantitative visualization technique, is widely used to study liquid-liquid mixing behavior in the chemical processes. This review introduces the principles and implementation methods of laser-induced fluorescence technique and applications in the investigation of both non-reactive and reactive mixing potential areas of this technique is also presented. discusses the progress of its behavior. The outlook of somepotential areas of this technique is also presented.
