Sample pre-treatment is the key process for the veterinary drug residue analysis. The traditional sample preparation techniques which are harmful to the environment and the health of analyzers are often accompanied by a large production of pollution. Environment-friendly sample pre-treatment methods can reduce pollution caused by sample treatment and make the sample preparation faster and simple. The principles, characteristics of these techniques and research progress are reviewed and the prospect of the environment-friendly sample pre-treatment is discussed in the paper.
