Chronic inflammation plays an important role in the process of tumor formation. The expression of interleukin -6, a cancer -related inflammatory cytokine, is highly expressed in the malignant tumor microenvironment. The high expression of IL - 6 promotes tumor＇s invasion, metastasis and angiogenesis. It also participates in the formation of drug resistance. Now,we studied the mechanism of IL -6 on cancers, to reveal the molecular basis of microenvironment and solid tumor interrelationship,which would be benefit to tumor targeted therapy.
