英文摘要：
Aim To conduct a research on the purpose of the founding of the Journal of NW, cles and the mode of editing and publishing. Methods Employing documental analysis and and its principal arti- investigation. Results The Jounal has carried various articles concerning natural geography, human geography, economy and national defence and so on. Conclusion As an academic journal founded by NWU in the Anti-Japanese War Period, the journal focuses on the China＇s northwestern development and comes up with the importance of the development. It also discusses the characteristc human geography and culture in this area and proposes some relating suggestions. These provided abundant historic reference for the natural apprearance and social and economic development of the Nortwestern part of China in the Anti-Japanese War Period and expanded the new scope of the research of human geography in this area.
