Evaluation of the status of safety input can only be carried out with the help of corresponding assessment indexes. However, present safety input evaluation index system are designed on a general industry basis, and for the coal mining industry, an industry of distinct characteristics, this system of inde- xes lacks in pertinence. In accordance with the characteristics of coal mine safe production, this paper, through cluster analysis, selects total annual safety input, unit safety input, safety project investment, safety equipment input, safety Sci-tech input and safety management input as major indexes in assessing the safety input level of coal mines.
