A hydrazone linagd, 2 -acetylpyridine salicyloyl hydrazone, was synthesized in CH3CH2OH solvent.The crystal structure of 2- acetylpyridine salicyloyl hydrazone has been determined by X -ray single crystal diffraction. The result shows it is Orthorhombic, Pbca, a = 1. 28255 （18）nm, b = 1. 18412 （13）nm, c = 1. 6958（3） nm, V = 2.5753（6） nm3, Z =8, Mr = 255.27, Dc = 1.317 g/cm^3, T = 298（2） K, F （000） = 1072, μ（MoKα）=0.091cm^-1 , R = 0.0453 and ωR = 0.0827. The compound formed Z type structure through intermolecule hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking.
