对EAM在超短光脉冲产生、全光信息处理(3R)、光时分复用(OTDM)和波长转换等下一代全光通信网中的若干重要应用进行了分析和论述,同时介绍了目前国际上在相关领域研究的进展情况。
The basic principles of electro-absorption modulators (EAM's) are introduced in this paper, based on which some important applications of the EAM's in next generation all-optical networks, such as ultra-short optical pulse source, all-optical signal process (3R), optical time devising multiplexing (OTDM), and wavelength conversion, were analyzed and discussed. Meanwhile, resent developments in relative research fields were introduced in details.
