The paper is centered on how to train innovative talents with professional skills. Based on the aetual situation of the university, the college and the major, and the analysis of a long period of practical teaching, the paper summarizes methods and ways of training innovative talents with practical skills suitable to majors of Ornamental Horticulture as follows：Emphasize the eonstruetion of practice bases; Improve teachers＇ comprehensive qualities; Start training courses earlier and extend the period of training time;Connect teaching to production closely;Perfect teaching contents; Master solid horticultural skills;Enhance particularly the students＇ vocational skills during graduation practice;Carry out scientific research actively;Apply to the mode of integration with ＂double certificates＂ ; Hold various exhibitions of the teaching achievements.
