CBE is one of the three vocational education modes in the world. The significant characteristic of vocational education in Canada is ＆quot;teaching with the student as the main body, and with ability as the standard＆quot;. This advanced concept runs through the whole process of vocational education in Canada, and carries out in every link of teaching, which make a solid foundation for the success of vocational education in Canada. However, the exten-sive cooperation between colleges and enterprises is the key to the success of Canadian CBE vocational education mode and the most powerful guarantee. This paper discusses the significant features of vocational education and the key to success in Cana-da, and proposes that our higher vocational education should learn from the successful experience of Canada, in order to pro-mote its healthy and rapid development.
