The article tries to make a comprehensive analysis of Lijiang Old Town garden plant species and plant design status by investigation. There are 110 species 84 genera 59 families and applied to Lijiang Old Town plants landscape with local plant characteristics but the landscape plants diversity is not enough, the native plant application ratio is low, and the scale is small. Then the article suggests： to make full use of the terrain and space according to the plant biological and ecological characteristics, and to be rich in plant species according to old town structure design in order to make full use of landscape plants ecological, cultural and aesthetic functions.
