A large amount of oily sludge will be produced in the process of crude oil extraction, storage and transportation. Oilysludge, if not properly handled, will not only directly endanger the health of the soil pollution, but also a huge waste of oilresources. In this paper, the sources and different treatment methods of oily sludge are summarized, and the advantages anddisadvantages of various methods are compared. By comparison, the extraction method is considered to be a promising treatmentmethod.
