Taking the gradient property of piezoelectric parameters g31, elastic compliance parameters S33 and density p along z direction into account, some parameter identification methods for a functionally gradient piezoelectric material are studied in the present analysis. In detail the single parameter identification for g31 or S33 as well as the multiple parameter identification for S33 and ρ are presented by the use of the strain, displacement and electrical potential of a given functionally gradient piezoelectric cantilever subjected to a concentrated force or an electric field. At the end of this paper, applications of the multiple parameter identification method are discussed in some special cases.
