Dibenzo-14-crown-4（1） in yield of 50.24% was prepared by the reaction of catechol with 1,3-dibromopropane.Chloromethylazed-dibenzo-14-crown-4 was synthesized by the chloromethylation of 1 with tetrabutylammonium bromide in the presence of parafoemaldehyde and HCl.The structure was characterized by 1H NMR and IR.
