the article systematically detailed the related theory of Lanthanum-substituted bismuth titanate. The preparation and research progress in Lanthanum-substituted bismuth titanate ferroelectric thin films were introduced. And the process parameters' effects on the properties of the prepared films were discussed, too. It is showed clearly that lanthanum-substituted bismuth titanate ferroelectric thin films could potentially become the dominant materials for the electro-optic devices.
