英文摘要：
Histidine triad proteins（Htp）are a family of proteins found on the surface of members of the genus Streptococcus.Their defining feature is the presence of multiple copies of the characteristic histidine triad motif His-x-x-His-xHis,which is highly conserved in various organisms.Htp play important roles in streptococcal physiology and pathogenicity.This review briefly summarizes the discovery,structure,classification,putative functions,and role of Htp in pathogenesis as well as the latest findings with regard to the potential for this intriguing protein family to serve as components of vaccines.
