To make sure the personnel cultivation of higher education meet the requirements of various fields, undergraduate education must make a positive adjustment according to the transitional developing trend. During the Twelfth Five-year developing period, the growing trend in China domestic coal mining mainly focuses on deepening of mining depth, urgency of ecological protection, improving of the mechanization level and emphasis on economic efficiency of investment. Correspondingly, new demands on the undergraduates majoring in mining engineer- ing are the reserving of the basic theoretical knowledge in deep-mining, the blending of multidisciplinary knowledge structure and the enhancing of professional practice. Under the new situation, considering the defect of the present training system of undergraduates majoring in mining engineering, adjustment of professional curriculum system, strengthening of professional comprehensive skills training system and optimizing of professional appraisal standards should be put into operation to meet the new developing trend in coal mining positively.
