Let n 〉 1 be an integer, and n=Пti=1piai ,τk(e)(n)=Пipai||ndk(ai). In this paper we study the sum D(1,2,…,2,x)=∑n≤xd(1,2,…2;n) and get the asymptotic formula for it, where d(1,2,…2;n)=∑n=ab12…bk21. We get the mean value for the exponential divisor function, which improves the previous result.
