Two novel ferrocenyl derivatives were synthesized from ferrocenecarboxaldehyde and tris (hydroxymethyl) aminomethane by a three-step reaction of condensation, dehydration and reduction. The structures were characterized by 1 H NMR, IR and MS. Their electrochemical properties were studied by cyclic voltammetry.
