Evaluation of right ventricular （RV） function, as a group of powerful evaluation indexes in the diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of heart and lung diseases, has been getting more and more attention. In this article, the struc- ture and echoeardiography indexes of RV were introduced firstly, and then the echocardiography characteristics of RV function was systematically summarized in various diseases including pulmonary heart disease （pulmonary arterial hy- pertension, pulmonary embolism） and left heart disease （hypertension, atrial fibrillation, and mitral regurgitation）. In conclusion, RV echocardiography indexes are a group of more sensitive and more extensively used than LV function in some diseases. It indicates that the evaluation of RV function will have an important clinical value.
