Introduced is an improved genetic algorithm-based algorithm —reeding algorithm, which integrates three operations (selection, crossover and mutation) in the genetic algorithm into one operation. Compared with the traditional optimal algorithms, this method is simple , easy to be programmed, and finds the global optimum solution quickly when it is used for optimal reservoir operation. The present algorithm is an effective algorithm which needs less computer memory.
