SlOOb is a calcium binding protein implicated in many nervous system diseases, such as Alzheimer＇s disease, Parkinson＇s disease and Neuropathic pain, etc. The experiment used situ hybridization and immunofluorescence to analyze SlOOb expression in CNS. The results show that SlOOb is mainly expressed in the astrocytes of gray matter and the maturing oligodendrocytes in white matter of spinal cords, which indicates that SlOOb is not a good molecular marker for astrocytes.
