Feed terminal unite （FTU） monitors power supply of transmission line in real-time and implements communication tasks.It is very important to require FTU still work when transmission line fails.A smart power system is designed that includes down power module, charge module, super-capacitor bank, regulated module, and so on.The down power module implements to obtain the voltage from transmission line.The charging module completes the quick charging of super-capacitor.The super-capacitor bank provides the power supply of FTU when transmission line is outage.The voltage regulator module keeps the output voltage of the super-capacitor at a stable value which is required by FTU.The intelligent control of system is realized by LPC2138 chip.After testing,the power supply system can meet the requirements in output voltage parameters, power supply time and quality aspects.The problem in power supply reliability of FTU is solved effectively.
