The lanthanide complexes doped gel films coated on silicon solar cells could be prepared and photovoltaic properties of the solar cells with lanthanide complexes doped antireflection coatings have been measured. The improvement obtained in the silicon solar cell efficiency has been found to be about 15% when the (0.5 mol% TTFA:Eu3+ + 0.5 mol% PHBA:Tb3+) co-doped antireflection coatings were used on silicon solar cells.
