With an example of repairing of the worn left and right tail shafts of a vessel, some technical problems were introduced such as the choice of coating fabrication methods and coating materials, main thermal spraying processes and coating machining. This technique possesses the advantages of reliability, short repair period and low cost, which can be referenced for persons in charge of repairing marine tail shaft and other shaft components.
