Deformation often occurs on trilobite specimens preserved in shale. Without paying enough attention to the deformation, misidentification could be made for those fossils. Restoration of pictures of deformed specimens could be very beneficial to understanding the morphology of trilobites. Computer-graphic restoration technique can be applied to restore deformed specimens (Hughes and Jell,1992; Jell and Hughes, 1997). This technique uses program Adobe Photoshop to adjust and correct their images for their tectonic distortion. Two moulting specimens in postecdysial stages (including soft stage and paper shell stage) are described, in which pl. I , fig. 8 belonging to the soft stage and pl. I , fig. 9 possibly belonging to the paper shell stage. They are easily misidentified because of little relief and wrinkled surface. So the differences between specimens belonging to different moulting stages are so big that they easily leads to misidentification.
