Urban function and urban spatial structure are closely interrelated. Urban function leads to urban structure adjustment;meanwhile the improvement of urban spatial structure leads to the perfection of urban function. Fengfeng mining area in Handan city is a typical resource-based city. Currently,Fengfeng is at the stage of the urban function transition. The key to realize the sustainable development is to accomplish urban function transition and the adjustment of the urban spatial structure. It is also a necessity for seizing the new development opportunities.
