In recent years, bio-electrochemical systems （BES）is more and more largely used to enhance nitro- gen-removal in wastewater treatment. Application researches in this area are reviewed and principles as well as technologies of nitrogen-removal of BES are summarized. In addition, problems related to the practical application in prospect are also discussed.
