This article describes the research progress of poly(N-methyl-3,4-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][ 1,4]oxazine) (PMDTO) and poly(N-ethyl-3,4-dihydrothieno[3,4-b][1,4]oxazine)(PEDTO). Its discovery and development process are systematically reviewed. And we mainly focus on its excellent properties and potential use in the field of super capacitor, electrochromism, biosensor, etc. Furthermore, the future development of nitrogen analogs of PEDOT is prospected.
