Pyodermas are common in dogs, there are three general types of pyoderma： superficial, deep and juvenile pyoderma, staphylococcus is the most common causative organism. Diagnosis is based on the environ- mental history, clinical and microscopic examination findings. It is important to further clarify the situation with bacterial culture and susceptibility testing. The clinical symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of a canine pyoderma were reviewed to provide the clinician with an overview of this increasingly prevalent disease.
