There are two routes about phonological access in dual route model, lexical route and non-lexical route. Dual route model can not only explain many phenomena in human＇s reading, such as frequency effect, regularity effect, but also be supported by materials came from dyslexia. This model is a computational model, and now researchers are trying to examine the model from the view of brain mechanism. The paper discussed developmental process and trend of dual route model.
