In order to deal with high resolution images, the bidimensional empirical mode decomposition (BEMD) method introduced by J. C. Nunes et al is improved. To avoid solving large linear equations and calculating large matrix, the image is split into several blocks and every block is processed individually. In this way, the time and space complexities have been greatly lowered.
