The issues about for whom the talents are cultivated,what kind of talents are to be cultivated and how they are cultivated are primarily the fundamental matters for the ideological and political work in universities,and ＂strengthening morality and cultivating people＂ should be the key of the work in order to get core socialist values well acknowledged in classroom teaching,in teaching materials and in students＇ mind,and achieve cultivation of talents throughout the whole process and from various angles. Factors including the complex and unstable world situation,economic globalization,cultural diversification,and social informatization have brought great impact to the ideological and political work and challenges to the cultivation of core socialist values. College students,the subjects of the cultivation,are the builders and successors of the course of socialism with Chinese characteristics,so the education of core socialist values for them should be improved by way of model demonstration,social practice,theoretical guidance and cultural inheritance,which can show the great function of ideological and political work——strengthening morality and cultivating people.
